Listen before you lose your mind
Sona is NOT useless. She is extremely useful and SCALES over time with her passive. Early game may be slow but that is OKAY.
I know you want an engage support but I am not going to sit in the back line and watch you die. We can win.

Cheat sheet (TLDR)
= irrelevant for you = reduce enemy damage for couple seconds = enemy slow for couple seconds
DON'T BE AN IDIOT DUM DUM AND FOLLOW UP ON SONA ULTS OR POWERCHORDS WHEN THE SITUATION CALLS FOR IT.

Sona's power chord rundown
(A LOT of you have no idea what she does.)
Blue — Bonus damage on her next attack
Don't worry about this one too much. It's mostly used to poke the enemy if there's an opening.
Purple — Slows the enemy by 50% for 2 seconds
You'll likely see this chord when we are chasing down a kill or when we are running away. I have lost so many kills to ADCs giving up on the target when I'm right about to slow them. LOCK IN.
Green — Reduces the targeted enemy's dmg by 25% for 3 seconds
This one is HUGE and almost nobody knows about it. You may see me use this to help you survive assassin ganks or all-ins. If you decide to all-in an ADC well after this effect has worn off and you've missed your window to trade, I will lose my mind.
Wave management
In general, let's try to keep our wave on our side (freeze). It will help us farm and scale better and deny the enemy room to chase us down the lane if they are running melee engage supports.
If the wave ends up on their side, our lives become MUCH harder unless we are ahead and have the means to pressure them with smaller risk.
With a Sona support, we will be easily run down and extremely vulnerable during early ganks. I am squishy and have no hard AOE CC until 6.
Sona's toughest matchups
(in my experience) — If we face the following supports, it's probably because someone made me first pick. Thanks btw, you better carry @whoever swapped with me
We WILL have a rough early game, but as long as Sona is stacking her passive and you are farming consistently and we aren't getting hooked / rooted / fully caught, all is well.
